Migration

In my project, I combined analog and digital elements to create an interactive experience. The central component is a table with motor loops—inspired by classic children’s play tables. To further reinforce this association, there are small children’s chairs on both sides, with a colorful play rug underneath. But this table is not intended for children: it serves as a learning platform that deals with the serious topic of migration and its challenges in a playful way.

The project focuses on three key regions:

•the Sahel

•the Darién Gap

•the Mediterranean

With the help of light-sensitive sensors, users can place figures on specific zones. As soon as a marked area is activated, a Processing sketch reacts and projects corresponding information directly onto the tabletop via a projector, and a matching narrative is read aloud to the user.

The result is an experience that encourages reflection—playful in form, but profound in content.
