I hate the taste of water

“I hate the taste of water” A dystopian fantasy video-performance about the absurdity realm of social media.

“I hate the taste of water” is the first work of the collective Chief Executive Girls by Aleksandra Mitrović and Alethia Pinzón-Rodríguez. This performance and research project was developed during the summer semester of 2025 on the class “Frequencies in Motion” by Alex Beriault and Mattia Bonafini. The debut was part of the class group performances at the Zentrum fur Kunst Bremen during “Offene Ateliers”

This piece is a playful representation of Chief Executive Girls navigating the current state of the world through speculative fiction and escapism. The performance follows CEG building up a hyper feminine digital identity that blends within media and comments on noise, online overstimulation and current socio-political situations while being an observer in a hyper-vigilant state.

Creating a narrative through the live video feedback with the performers on stage, who choreograph themselves on a dystopian audio of an imaginary social network feed. CEG navigate and play with the absurdity of human performative roles in society through social media dances, makeup routines and rituals.
