AI Experiments
AI Experiments is a collection of interactive chat prototypes that explore unconventional approaches to AI interactions through chat interfaces. Each experiment highlights a specific aspect of AI communication, reflecting on established norms of usability, transparency, and personality in conversational systems.

The project consists of several chat-based experiments, each with a unique interaction style and AI persona:
- Emoji Chat: Is a minimalist chat where communication is limited to emojis, challenging both user and AI to convey meaning without words.
- Lying Chat: An AI that intentionally lies to the user, prompting them to identify and call out lies.
- Morse Code Chat: Users communicate with a stranded ship captain via Morse code, with all input and responses in morse code.
- Tone Chat: Multiplayer chat where users can transform each other’s messages into different tones or speaking styles, without the other person seeing that change.
- Foreign Chat: A chat where the AI speaks broken English but mostly danish, while the user needs to complete specific tasks.
- Ghosting Chat: An AI that leaves the user on “read” sometimes, selectively ignoring or responding to messages.
- Rushing Chat: An impatient AI that interrupts users mid-message, making assumptions about their intent and not letting them finish their thought.
- Schwurbler Chat: An AI that mimics conspiracy-theory thinking, offering “thought process” and “search” modes with a questionable way of thinking.
Each experiment is prototyped using Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, and Google Gemini APIs. The aim was to prioritize playful and experimental interaction over conventionality and utility. The project is available as a public website, allowing anyone to try the experiments and reflect on their own expectations of AI communication.
