The Analog Knocking Quintet
Music thrives from repetition of patterns. The project is based on objects that seek correlation between music and repetition. A musician programs each object by tapping rhythmic pattern sequences into the object, which it repeats until it gets re-programmed with a new rhythm.
A unique soundscape of repeated and overlapping patterns emerge through the interaction of rhythms produced by the objects. The results may encourage musicians to think about order and chaos in relation to the concept of music.
